Shropshire is a beautiful county with a marvellously diverse landscape. The Wildlife Trust works to protect its wild places and wildlife both on its nature reserves and beyond from woods and flower-rich meadows to wild hilltops and wetlands ringing with birds, protecting some of our most important wildlife sites, habitats and species.
The Trust has a string of nature reserves across the county and is also working with other landowners and communities to develop a series of landscape-scale projects which would encourage the restoration and reconnection of wild places in and beyond the county.
The Shropshire Biodiversity Action Plan sets out a framework for protecting and enhancing the county's biodiversity.
Climate change is also a very real threat to Shropshire's wildlife. While international treaties will, in time, bring about a reduction in CO2 emissions, finding ways to help wildlife adapt to a changing environment is vital, urgent and a huge part of our work right now.
