Frequently Asked Questions...

Do you run school sessions?

Yes we do! Our school workshops are all listed here. We can deliver sessions on your school site, local area or at one of our nature reserves - curriculum linked or just for fun, from EYFS to secondary and colleges.  If you can’t see exactly what you need or you aren’t sure what will work for you get in touch and the team and we will guide you through.

Can I use/make a fire if I'm not Forest School trained?

One of our most common questions and the short answer is yes you can:  There is no requirement for a Forest School qualification to use fire in outdoor learning, however, staff must show confidence and competence and must comply with the setting’s health and safety and insurance regulations. If you want to embrace the wonderful benefits of using fire in your setting, take a look at our CPD options here to upskill your staff.

I have a class with complex needs, can you make it work for us?

Absolutely – we pride ourselves on inclusion and we will do whatever we can to make sure that our sessions are accessible for your whole group. Be sure to let us know what we can do to support you so that everyone can get the most out of our sessions.

I need some resources quickly, do you have anything I can freely download and print?

We’ve all been there, so feel free to use any of our resources from our Wildlife Watch website here.  You'll find activities, spotter sheets and colouring templates all with a nature theme. Be sure to check back occasionally to see the new things that have been added.

We can't afford transport, so is there anything you can do without travel?

We don’t want to let ever increasing costs stop your group form getting all they can from nature and it’s important that young people can explore their local area with confidence. That’s why all our standard sessions can be delivered on, or within walking distance of your school site. Our bespoke workshops work particularly well for this because we can focus on the environment and resources you have freely available. If you’re not sure what to choose, get in touch and we can help you decide.

We can also help with after-school club sessions on your school site, or even help you make your school grounds a greener space for nature and play.

Is my child too young to start at Wildlings and can I bring their sibling?

We believe you’re never to young to get muddy! Our sessions are aimed at 0-5 yrs. but older siblings are welcome to join you and usually end up just as muddy as the others! You can even take advantage of our sibling discount.  See our Wildlings page for more details and don't forget to check our What's On for the latest events.

Can we have an after-school club at our school?

Our WildPlay After School Club is one of the most popular activities we offer. Schools love that they can offer an alternative to sports and arts, and we love getting fresh air and nature connection at the end of the day!  Get in touch to see if we have capacity in your area, or to join the waiting list if we haven’t got room right now.

We do lots of your workshops already, so how can we become a Schools' Partner?

That's great to hear! Our School Partners are such a valuable part of our team - we love that we can build long lasting relationships with staff, students, and families. Not only does our School’s Partnership get your whole school benefitting from what nature has to offer, but it also gets you discounts on our session prices and priority booking for those all-important CPD days.

Whether you’ve been working with us for years, or this is your first visit to our site, get in touch with the team or complete the enquiry form for an informal chat about how we can support you.
