About the event

Fiona Gomersall is the Elan Valley Trust Ecologist and her work includes: monitoring habitats on the six in-hand farms in preparation for the new Sustainable Farming Scheme, checking on grazing levels and protecting rare species which includes saving the declining curlew. She is involved in project work with other staff, mainly peatland restoration but also the control of bracken and Sitka spruce which has invaded either heathland or species-rich meadows.

Fiona is a botanist and used to be involved in botanical surveys in The Strettons when she worked for Shropshire Wildlife Trust.
